Where exactly do Bollywood's heroines live?

Who says only the male stars in Bollywood can earn crores and indulge their money in their dream homes? Actresses, too, are increasingly becoming independent, displaying a rare gift in lucrative property investments. 

Leading the pack is, of course, Priyanka Chopra who reportedly owns nine flats! And Deepika Padukone, who's said to have bought a Rs 16 crore home in mid-town Mumbai.

Here's a 'realty' check on the top heroines and their expensive purchases

Location: Prabhadevi, Mumbai

When this Om Shanti Om gal does something, she does it in style. Moving far away from the suburban film crowd, Deepika recently bought a flat for Rs 16 crore in Beaumonde Towers in Central Mumbai.

While her detractors speculated that it could be beau Sidhartha Mallya who must have paid for this whopping purchase, insiders hinted that the flat is jointly in the name of Deepika and her father, Prakash Padukone putting paid to all rumours.

Location: Versova/Oshiwara, Mumbai

When the Income Tax sleuths raided the actress, they were surprised with their findings that she owns more than nine flats! Now, that's quite a figure. PC has homes in Oshiwara and Versova and it is believed that she has rented out a few of them.

Her parents stay in Oshiwara whereas PC herself lords over her Raj Classic flat (designed by Susanne Roshan) in Versova in which she moved in 2008 with an intimate house-warming party. 

Katrina Kaif

Location: Bandra, Mumbai and London, UK

For all the talk that Salman Khan had gifted her a huge flat a few years ago, Katrina continues to live in her plush Waterfield Road residence in Bandra and there seems to be no new addition to her list of properties in the city.

Her dream, however, is to buy a sea-facing property and she is said to be quietly working towards fulfilling that dream.

Meanwhile, there were reports that she has bought a new property in London, the city in which she has spent some time before moving to Bollywood.

Grown up in Chembur, the Ishqiya girl invested in her own cosy corner in Khar last year. The actress moved into her four-bedroom home in Khar with a small gathering of friends and well-wishers.

It's rumoured that Vidya's building in Chembur was being cleared up for redevelopment and she had no choice but to move out. She's often said that she loves Chembur but she's finding it rather convenient to travel to the suburban studios from her new home, which also includes office space.

Kareena Kapoor

Location: Khar, Mumbai

A Bandra girl all her life, Bebo and her mom, Babita, purchased twin flats in the same building a few years ago in Khar. This is where the actress currently lives.

And guess what? Beau Saif Ali Khan is not too far away from her place. It's been done up by Twinkle Khanna and though not very spacious, it is contemporary in look with earthy colours and chic wooden furniture.

Shilpa Shetty

Location; Juhu, Mumbai and Dubai

After her marriage to businessman Raj Kundra, the ravishing actress shifted to Juhu in a luxurious apartment jointly owned by the couple. The home in the high-rise, very close to where the Bachchans reside, is designed by Susanne Roshan.

Recently, she was even gifted a flat on the 19th floor in Dubai's Burj Khalifa, considered one of the world's tallest buildings.
