Secrets to a long-lasting Relationship Says Ms Clara Fernandes

With these tips and little effort on your part, you can rekindle the spark between you and your partner and have it burning forever!

Don’t we all want our relationships to last forever? Worry not. Ms Fernandes will just tell u how it’s possible.

Always be honest
This is a basic need for any kind of relationship to survive. You have to trust your partner and let him/ her believe that they can trust you too. Try and be as truthful as possible and always be reliable.

Accept your partner’s minuses too
No one is perfect — some are lazy, some sloppy, some think differently from how you do, some are always late for dates, some are simply too obsessive and compulsive about little things — and we have to keep that in mind. Accept the person for who they are, and do not try and force them to change for you. That really harms a relationship. At the most, help them understand it’s negative impacts, but don’t always make that as a topic of discussion between the two of you. And never taunt!

Space has a lot to do with it
In every relationship this is one thing that should never be overlooked. Too much of anything might end up suffocating your partner. Being together is great, but not ‘all’ the time. So make sure you always give your partner the space he or she needs. Don’t smother him/her with an overdose of ‘togetherness’. You will just end up pushing him/her away.

When you are wrong, admit it
Arguing that you are always right is not right at all. Be brave enough to admit that you are not. We all make mistakes and we all should remember that it was just that: a mistake. Accept and admit it, and then move on.

Going soft sometimes really helps
Do not scream at your partner. A good relationship that also lasts is usually between two people who are very good friends and who love and respect each other. Don’t insult him/her.

Plan pleasant surprises
Throw a surprise into the equation from time to time. It keeps things between two people lively and interesting. Also remember to be generous with compliments. Just follow one rule — be sincere about your compliments.

Maintain old activities
Keep doing the things the two of you did together in the initial days of the relationship, that brought the two of you closer. Also, maintain the individual activities too, like dressing up for him or her, pursuing your hobbies... and all those other things that played some part in making him/her fall in love with you. Avoid complacency. If you liked going out, don’t stop when you get comfortable with somebody.

Travel together
Getting away from routine daily life can be great for a relationship. Try to travel together at least once a year. But also make sure to take trips away individually. Give the other person the gift of missing you, it’s a fantastic gift. It’s good to miss each other from time to time — it brings back a sense of appreciation.

The ultimate rule
Too often in a relationship we forget ourselves and start to take on the identity of the other person, this is a mistake really.

Beautiful life needs beautiful mind Says Ms Clara Fernandes

To make life beautiful we need a beautiful mind Says Ms Clara Fernandes.  If the mind is pure, sound and healthy, life automatically becomes pleasant and blissful.  Mind controls the body thus guides our actions and it is our behaviour that brings us praise or slander.  It works like a steering in the vehicle. It is the mind which may make you wonder in wilderness or reach the destination safely.  Once mind understands the right path, one is certainly going to achieve the goal, reach the destination.

An enlightened mind, does establish love  instead  of  hatred,  tolerance  instead of   intolerance, selfless service  and cooperation instead of greed and selfishness.  And all this makes life virtuous and blissful. Because of mind that man wants everything good for himself but he is not prepared to allow the same right unto others.   If we want that others should not hurt or harm us, we will have to stop hurting and harming others.  We will have to rise above selfishness and serve others selflessly.

I've been waitin' to tell you Just because for a long time….. Says Ms Clara Fernandes

Just because I’m silent, doesn’t mean I don’t have a lot to say.

Just because  I appear happy, doesn’t mean everything is okay.

Just because I don’t listen to your problems, doesn’t mean I don’t care.

Just because I’m stubborn, doesn’t mean I’m not easy going.

Just because I’m honest, doesn’t mean I’m outspoken.

Just because I didn’t add you in my list doesnt mean that I don’t have feelings for you

Just because I’m not like you, doesn’t mean I’m weird.

Just because I say I don’t love you, doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings for you.

Just because I forgive, doesn’t mean i forget.

Men are nice when they are married Says Ms Clara Fernandes

Men tend to behave better when they're married - both because marriage helps to improve their behavior, and nicer men are more likely to be married in the first place. "Not everyone is equally likely to enter the institution of marriage, but those that do enter into it get some benefit from it .Men with fewer nasty qualities were more likely to eventually end up married. Married men try to decreased all the bad qualities in them, They try to adjust with their partner so that relationship works very smoothly. And when they get married, they get even less antisocial. So both things are going on.".Married men may spend more time with their spouses than their friends and bad behaviors such as delinquency and binge drinking tend to be group activities. In addition, married men "have more to lose" if they're caught doing illegal activities, and may care what their spouses think.

Married people as a group tend to be healthier than singles. Still, people with spouses tend to live longer, be less depressed, and suffer less from heart disease and stroke.

Dazzle your date! Says Ms Clara Fernandes

Everyone should look their very best on their first date. This begins by a careful selection of what you’re going to wear. This should be done keeping in mind what kind of place you are going to on your first date. Usually dates are planned at casual places. So, dress accordingly. The more formal the place, the more formal is the dress. But have two or three dresses ready with accessories to avoid panic on D-Day.

You must take a shower before you get ready, even if you have had one in the morning. Smelling nice is one of the most important part of this kind of meeting. Use a good perfume before you leave your home or office for your date. But at the same time don’t bathe in perfume, else your date won’t be able to breathe because of your strong perfume.

Set your hair nicely. If possible, get your hair cut or trimmed a day or two before for a fresh and neat look. Girls should go for a simple hairstyle and blowing drying your hair for a date will help you dazzle your date.

Eat with awareness

Becoming More Aware Of Your Relationship With Food and Life is a must, says Ms Clara Fernandes

THERE is no menu to follow. Mindful eating is about how and why you eat and less about what you eat. When you are closely in touch with your eating, you know the exact moment you are satisfied.
“To understand why, what, when and how we eat, we have to be compassionate and non-judgmental. This allows us to take a closer look at our behaviour,” “A human brain consumes a lot of energy to do the daily mental activities. This energy comes from carbohydrates in its simplest form — glucose, which is supplied by the food we eat or from the glycogen stored in our body. Glucose is also supplied from the proteins stored in the muscles.”Most of us give in to binge eating during stress. In such situations, stress hormones are released in our body, which protect our organ systems from any kind of damage, but create a phenomenal demand on the energy stores of our body. This leads to a drop in the blood sugar level, followed by a sudden craving to eat something that will give pleasure.
The so-called ‘binge eating’ or ‘sugar cravings’ or ‘the sweet tooth getting active’ triggers off from this point.
Is it possible to live a stress-free life? No, but busting out the ill-effects of stress is possible. Yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercises balance the stress hormones (cortisols). Eating small, frequent meals, which are full of good quality proteins and carbohydrates, ensure a constant flow of sugar to the brain and minimise drop in the blood sugar levels.
If you eat in haste, while standing, watching TV, chatting on the Internet or mentally preoccupied with something, you reduce the satiety value of food. The colour, texture, flavour, taste and appearance of foods can impart a sense of satisfaction and contentment. Even a simple yet balanced meal gives the pleasure of the most exotic-looking food laid out.

Get the most from your meal
Eat slowly. Learn to savour your food. You may have skipped your meals earlier but no more! Regular meals are a must. Big isn’t necessarily better when it comes to portion sizes. Smaller meals eaten through the day are better than three large meals. Neither stuff nor starve. Eat slowly allowing your stomach to signal when it’s had enough. Eat more during the day and less at night to compensate for the drop in metabolism. Fat-free isn’t necessarily healthy. It will still get stored as fat if you overeat. It’s okay to indulge sometimes. A piece of cake, a scoop of ice-cream will make you a happy person

Teach your cheating partner a lesson

Having a cheating partner is supposedly the most painful of all types of cheating. Here are ways to teach your cheating partner a lesson:
Screaming and yelling will only vent out your anger. You need to explain to your cheating partner how hurt you felt and the magnitude of pain, he or she has caused you. The trick is to make them feel guilty, very guilty indeed.
Explain to him or her that they will have to do a series of things to make it up to you. Start by asking for a nice expensive gift, do favours for your family and friends etc.
If you’re meeting him or her for lunch or dinner, arrive late by a minimum of 30 minutes. And if they are about to speak about how late you are, give them your meanest, angry look. And finally, order for fancy food and make your partner pay.
Make your partner do all the things they refused to do for you in the past. For example, attending your family functions, hanging out with your friend that your partner dislikes, making them wear clothes that you like but they refused to wear earlier.
Refuse to have sex with him or her until your anger subsides. But if you want sex make him or her act out your wildest fantasies.
Make your cheating partner accompany you for your favourite activities like, a hard core chick-flick or action flick, sit through a cricket match (if it’s Test cricket, even better!), shopping etc.
PLAY SMART: The trick is to make your cheating partner feel very guilty

Carrots help protect against cancer

IT'S known that carrots are good for your eyesight, now scientists claim the humble vegetable could also help cut the risks of heart disease and protect against cancer. Researchers at the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention ( CDC) in Atlanta found that carrots are packed with carotenoids, the naturally occurring pigments synthesised by plants, which help fight off many diseases, including lung cancer. The antioxidants, which are responsible for the yellow, orange and red colours of many plants, are also found in darkgreen vegetables such as broccoli, green beans, and green peas, The researchers also found a substance, alpha- carotene, in carrots and some other vegetables which is linked with a reduced risk of dying over a 14- year period.
According to them, chronic diseases like heart disease and cancer are caused by oxygen- related damage ,fats and proteins. But carotenoids, including lycopene, betacarotene and alpha- carotene, produced by plants and microorganisms act as antioxidants and counteract this damage.
But, those with higher levels of blood alpha- carotene levels had a lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease or cancer, the researchers found. And although chemically similar to betacarotene, it may be more effective at inhibiting the growth of cancer cells in the brain, liver and skin. Moreover, results from a population- based case- control study of the association between the consumption of fruits and vegetables and risk of lung cancer suggest that consumption of yellow- orange, carrots, sweet potatoes or pumpkin and winter squash ... which have a high alphacarotene content, was more strongly associated with a decreased risk of lung cancer than was consumption of all other types of vegetables." Although studies suggest that eating more fruits and vegetables is associated with lower risk of chronic diseases.

10 golden rules to keep romance alive in relationships

Getting into a relationship is easy, but keeping it alive is the difficult part.
Marriage Magic! Find It, Keep It, And Make It Last.

1. Money: It's the root of all evils, as they say. If a partner has been unscrupulous, getting the trust back can be a challenge,

2. Sex/infidelity: A sexless marriage or unfaithfulness can extinguish love quicker than blowing out a candle. Don't let the flame burn out and try to renew your sex life.

3. Disrespect: Research shows that belittling, insulting or yelling at your partner can cut the chances of your relationship's survival.

4. Children: Some live for them, others would rather kill themselves. Make sure to keep things in balance with your partner, so you have the energy to deal with any child issues.

5. Opposite-sex friends: If you don't want your spouse/partner to dine out and have drinks with a member of the opposite sex, then you need to follow the same guidelines.

6. Resentments: Don't hold your pain, hurt or anger inside. If you are harbouring some resentment talk it out and put the matter to rest, so you can enjoy your relationship.

7. Lying/broken promises: Even if you're afraid of getting in trouble, tell the whole truth and don't break promises, and find a way to make up for past mistakes.

8. Laziness: Keeping a relationship is hard work, and if you are unwilling to do it, your connection will diminish and you will begin to resent your partner.

9. Being mean: If you punish your partner when you don't get your way, or if the two of you give each other the silent treatment, you are headed for a lifetime of emotional pain. Stop the nastiness and learn to talk about it.

10. Discomfort/remodelling. If you are living in a construction zone, it's pretty hard to feel comfortable. Injury or illness can create a similar situation. Your home should be a place of serenity, so if you are remodelling or are dealing with physical issues, make your comfort a priority.

ALL FOR A PERFECT KISS...

Worried about your kissing skills? Here are 10 steps to a sensual lip-lock

You’re looking into his/her eyes and they’re gazing back. You both move in for the kiss... pause. Worried if you will do it right? If you follow these 10 steps, every kiss will be perfect.

Eye grazing
Start by looking into your partner’s eyes, when the two of you are sitting close. Trust us, it’ll send the message right across, that you want to get closer.

Smile that mischievous smile
Just curve your lips into a small, suggestive smile, and watch how you get one in return.

Erase the space
With that smile, you’ve got the signal to move in, albeit, slowly. Moving too fast will make it look like a desperado’s attempt. keep in mind that slow is always sensuous.

Light touch on the face!
This will promote the feeling of intimacy between the two of you. Girls can head to stroke the hair, while the boy can lightly touch the girl’s cheeks.

Relax
Just be sure that your lips are relaxed and not tightly pressed together.

Moisturise your lips
Make this a rule when you are in a relationship, both men and women. Keep your lips soft by regular application of lip balm, so when the moment comes, it’s soft and supple lips that greet your partner’s. Men should avoid licking their lips or else you could just land a sloppy kiss.

Close your eyes
Close your eyes, as you’re about to make contact. Some people feel awkward if their partner’s eyes are open. Besides, you’ll end up with a much more passionate kissing experience if you close your eyes and let the sensations drive you.

Settle in the right angle
Tilt your head slightly, as this will help line the lips, so there’s no chance of missing the kiss and turning a sensual moment into a funny one.

Part your lips
Now that your lips are relaxed, part them slightly as you begin contact. Don’t open them too much or your partner may feel that you’re ‘swallowing’ them. Don’t keep them too closed either though because your partner may get the impression that you’re not as ‘in’ to this kiss as they are.

The kiss
It is finally time! Gently touch your lips to theirs and you have the perfect kiss. Be sure not to pull away too quickly. You want to take your time and enjoy it! When you do finally pull away, look your partner in the eyes again, and follow it up with a smile, an embrace, or a whisper. Remember, a kiss is perfect when it has a perfect end.

Oman is all about mesmerising memories and magical experiences , discovers By Ms Clara Fernandes

Oman officially the Sultanate of Oman. Its is an Arab country in southwest Asia on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It borders the United Arab Emirates on the northwest, Saudi Arabia Yemen on the southwest. The coast is formed by the Arabian Sea on the southeast and the Gulf of Oman on the northeast. The Madha and Musandam enclaves are surrounded by the UAE on their land borders, with the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman forming Mussandams coastal boundaries. In November 2010, The United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) listed Oman as the most-improved nation in last 40 years from among 135 countries worldwide.   on the west and As soon as the car pulled away from Muscat's Seeb Int'l Airport, on to the open road, the pristine beauty of the Sultanate of Oman quickly enveloped me and it became evident that this was a going to be a trip to remember. The monolithic limestone mountains form the backdrop of a scenic journey through a country where vibrant cultures flourish in tandem with modernity in every region. Home to World Heritage sites, the rugged beauty of Oman is to be seen to be believed. Legend has it that Sinbad the sailor who regaled every school child with his adventures, sailed from the coastal town of Sohar.

Aptly described as the 'Soul of Arabia' by the award winning Oman Air campaign, Oman is a photographer's dream and a geologist's paradise. As diverse as nature possibly could be, coupled with surfing coastline and the unmatchable hospitality of the Omani people, there is a vast scope for leisure, adventure and entertainment. Commonly seen are the fascinating forts and watch towers, located strategically. Some of them such as the Fort Mirani and the Fort Jalali were built as early as 1586-87 A.D. and are located near the Sultan's palace in Muscat overlooking the Arabian Sea.

Oman also plays host to a range of International events including the Muscat Asian Beach Games, from 8-12 December 2010, the Tour of Oman featuring over 120 of the biggest names in Cycling, and the Muscat Festival which includes Oman's first Fashion Week and Food Festival, running from January to February.

The Sultanate is an unspoilt part of the world and one of the largest nesting sites for endangered Green turtles, with over 20,000 females returning annually to lay their eggs at Ras al Hadd. Literally meaning 'the cape' in Arabic, it is the easternmost point of the Arabian Peninsula and Oman is very proud that this is the point where the suns first rays touch land on rising. The waters around this area are popular for snorkelling, diving and fishing as it marks the convergence point of many currents resulting in an abundance of sea life. The rugged mountains plunging into blue fjords, beautiful green valleys called wadi's with gentle streams, clear blue green waters of the ocean, and the wind sculpted sand dunes combined with adrenaline pumping adventure sports such as surfing, dune bashing and rock climbing, give you mesmerising memories and magical experiences that leave you simply craving for more.

Not far behind is the shopping experience. While the modern Malls attract you with worlds best brands, the traditional Muttrah Souq in the heart of Muscat is a haven for souvenir hunters and antique collectors. Oman Favourite Things to Do

Dolphin & Whale Watching

Dolphin Watching is a popular activity available through many tour operators in Oman. There is something very special about sailing alongside a school of playful dolphins and while it cannot be guaranteed that you will see any during a tour, it is more than likely that you will.
Over 20 types of whales and dolphins have been identified in the areas off the coast of Oman.  You are more likely to see dolphins from October to May and whales are best spotted early morning and evening.  A knowledgeable and responsible operator will enhance your experience and protect the sea life.

2. Mosque Tour

Mosques are naturally omnipotent in the landscape of Muslim Oman and while many are beautiful to admire from the outside, only one is officially available for visitors to tour inside.  The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is spectacular in its Islamic architecture and heaven for the photographer.
A knowledgeable guide will bombard you with facts and figures of the breathtaking interior and answer any questions you may have relating to Islam.  This mosque is also important for housing an Islamic reference library containing a vast amount of information on Islamic science and culture. Strict rules regarding attire and opening times apply
Non-Muslim sightseers can visit the Sultan Qaboos Mosque according to days, prayer times and Islamic festivals. But generally, its open to visitors between 8am and 11am except on Thursday and Friday.

3. 4WD off-road

A spectacular off-road desert adventure awaits you in Oman. Experience the thrill of adrenaline-fuelled activities which include Dune Bashing and Wadi Bashing.
Enjoy the scenic mixed terrain of desert sand, natural spring waters and majestic mountains during the drive.
  • Dune Bashing
What goes up must come down, and what could be more exhilarating than coming down the soft tricky sands of a steep sand dune? Dune Bashing gives you the excitement you would hate to miss. In Oman sport is mostly practiced in the Wahiba Sands where the dunes are steep and sands are soft. Just sail your 4WD along the sand dunes. Know the ploy to glide along the treacherous sands other than just driving, and there you go for some serious fun! The fanciful golden Arab sands await you for a breathtaking experience. Some deserts camps like Nomadic Desert Camps; Desert Night Camps are ready to help you treasure this lifetime activity. Get the details about the camps in our website.
  • Wadi Bashing
The pristine land of Oman holds lot more adventure you ever thought of. Wadi Bashing unlike Dune Bashing is a whacky experience. This is generally practiced along the river canyons in the mountains where the bed is dry and fills up only during infrequent downpour. A 4 WD drive on the off-roads of the country, Wadi Bashing is a bone shaking experience, as you drive along the dry river beds hitting the boulders and even splashing water as your car slink into small water pockets. Some of the few places where you can show your passion for the game are Wadi Tiwi, Mazara, Wadi Shab, Wadi Bani Khalid. Check out the list of tour operators in our site for guidance.

4. Turtle Watching

Some of the World’s most important nesting beaches are situated in Oman. Turtle breeding reserves are located in the Damaniyat islands, Ras Al Jinz, Masirah and Ras Al Hadd. To see a giant turtle lay her eggs on a beach in the dim light of dawn or in the middle of the night is a magical moment and you can experience this in a number carefully managed locations.
Conservation of the turtles’ nesting sites is of utmost importance in Oman and you will require a guide to take you to see the turtles in action.  There are various types of accommodation available in the areas from campsites to basic air-conditioned rooms.

5. Hiking/Trekking

As rock climbing also demonstrates, Oman’s mountainous regions are often best explored on foot to appreciate hidden views of the spectacular scenery.  Treks are available for every level of ability and tour operators can organise everything from a short walk in the wadis to a trek to the top of Jebal Akhdar, 2,400km above sea level.
Walks can take you through living or abandoned villages, date palm plantations and falaj systems and you can view the breathtaking ‘Grand Canyon’ of the Hajar Mountain range. You may even meet some of the friendly local people as you explore the area. Appropriate clothing, sunscreen and water are essential.

6. Camel Riding

Fancy a Lawrence of Arabia type of experience? Don’t miss out on all the fun. Try a camel ride into the glorious sand dunes with professional guides and you’re in for a thrill you will never forget. You can even accessorize your camel adventure with sand surfing and trips to nearby encampments. Various tour operators include short camel rides as part of their itinerary.

7. Diving

The waters surrounding Oman offer some of the most spectacular diving on the planet.  You will also find them far less crowded than other diving areas, meaning you will see more fish than people.  Another advantage is that the diving is available all throughout the year.
There are a number of dive schools offering lessons, both PADI and BSAC and experienced divers can even test their nerves with a night dive or a cave dive.  Shipwrecks and coral reefs play host to a wide variety of marine life including turtles, stingrays moray eels and reef sharks.  A dive permit from the ROP is necessary and available through the dive clubs.

8. Rock Climbing

The geography in Oman is a treat for rock climbers and the routes promise fantastic views of the scenery.  Established routes traverse through the mountains and are open to various levels of climbers.  Equipment can be hired for hours or days and the basics can be learned on an indoor wall before beginners brave the rock face itself.
Routes start off as close to Muscat as Wadi Adai, while a 4x4 is required to reach other routes such as Wadi Bani Auf, around two hours drive away. A short walk may also be necessary to reach the mountain routes.  Deep Water Soloing (DWS) is possible for the brave-hearted

9. Bird watching

Due to the intense cultivation of plants and trees in the past 30 years, the avian population in The Sultanate has dramatically risen to over 450 different species, 30 of which are native to Oman. Many of these species are migratory between Africa and Asia.
Good spots to observe these birds are lagoons and beaches.  The Oman Bird Group can give you more advice on where to go twitching or you can contact The Muscat Diving and Adventure Centre or African Sea Safaris to organise a bird watching trip.  As with any off road trip, be properly prepared in terms of your equipment and supplies.

10. Horse Racing/Riding

Horse racing is traditional in Arabic countries and Oman is renowned for its pure-bred Arabian horses. Horse breeders in Oman have been careful to preserve pure blood lines resulting in consistently healthy and strong animals. The Oman Equestrian Foundation was established in the ‘80s who organise show jumping events during the winter months.
There are a number of riding schools offering lessons for new learners and the more experienced alike.  Other services are available such as pleasure trips to local areas of beauty such as beaches and gardens and the Qurum Equestrian School offers a Pony Club for children. It is also possible to keep your horses at some of the stables.
